I, too, grew up with "What is so rare as a day in June?" but had forgotten the author and most of the lines. Since my children and grandchildren seem not to know the poem when I quote it, I tried the internet and find that others also loved it and had forgotten. Kindred spirits!

It's Wordsworth ...
   next lines " whether we look or whether we listen
                       we hear life murmur or see her glisten.
                        Every clod feels a stir of might,
                        An instinct within that reaches and towers......

  Again, I memorized it decades ago!!!

Am trying to find the complete text and author of a poet I memorized years...decades ago! First lines...

And what is so rare as a day in june;
Then, if ever, come perfect days...
when heaven tries earth if it be in tune...
and over it softly her warm ear lays...

Thanx....
