This poem appeared in a book of children's poems published around 1940. I don't know if it was a collection of poems by different authors or by one author. I would like to know the author's name or the name of the book. It was my father's favorite poem.
Delsey had a puddle pond
With mud around the edges,
And ships that sail with lots of freight
And battleships and dredges.
It may not be so deep or wide
But somehow I've a notion
He'd rather have his puddle pond
Than any sea or ocean.
