PLEASE HELP: Poem for Hospice Patient

I am trying to find a poem for a Hospice patient with whom I have been working. Time is of the essence here. I have tried bookstores, libraries, online search engines, etc. but to no avail. The challenge is that I have very little information/details, so I am hoping that someone might just recognize it. The patient told me that she had first come across the poem in Art Linkletter's book "Kids Say The Darndest Things". Apparently, it was written by a child or teenager. I had a librarian scan that book for me, and the search was not successful. I do not know if it was just missed or perhaps if the poem appears in another one of Linkletter's books.

The poem begins: "There is something inside me that keeps me alive." The patient could not remember anything else with certainty. She thought that the second line was something to the effect of "from the tip of my toes to the top of my head".

Any thoughts here would be much appreciated. Thank you!

TearS(uff)
I'm crying every minute
I'm dying every second
But Something inside of me keeps me Alive
That hope I try to keep, it lies very deep
Days are getting Harder
Life is getting stranger
I'm Losing Day-by-Day
I'm hurting in Every Way
---My Life---
When will it change?
Why won't it change?
Can it be changed?
These tears Hurt So Much and no one knows Why
I wish I could Stop and Never Cry
For they do Nothing but help me Die,
Deep within Myself
---I know---
It's the Strangest way to Die

That's all I could find that was even remotely close, not sure if that's what you were looking for

Not familiar to me - I'll check my children's poetry books, but KSTDT was an American show with books coming from it, so the likelihood of me having it is very small.
