Three birds flying over Clifton; the eagle, the sparrow and the dove.
Each one looking for a lady; the . . . . . . . . . . . (Lady of Love?)

Can anybody complete the above, please?

I remember this as a track from an album by a group called Waterfall in the late 70s. I loved that song and as far as I know it went:

Each one looking for a lady; the swan-like lady of love.

At least, that's what it sounded like! - lovely melody too.

It's by Keith Donnelly and the singer is Gilly Darby.

Yes!! That's it!! Thank you very much, Joycie. I've known Keith for years and, indeed, seen him several times this summer but didn't know he was the author. I shall contact him straight away.

Thanks also to Phorum 5 list-owner. I've been looking for this poem/song for years and now, in a little over one month after posting on this list, I've found it.
