Looking for a copy of a poem called the New Deck Boy, I think. A fella showed me it on another ship I worked so I have no idea where he got it from. Anyway, this is as far as I recall the first few verses, most likely terribly inaccurate. Has been at least a year since I've heard it.
He stood there on the dock,
a shy lad with a smile.
"I've come for a job", he said
and he turned as he wished us good day.
Skipper said lad, can you cook just a bit...
