Windy March is blowing, with all its might

Can anyone ID this bit of verse? It was given to schoolchildren in the 1930's as a piece to memorize. My friend who asked about it can only recall this much:

Windy March is blowing, with all its might.
Brooks are overflowing with foam all white.
Though it's cold as winter, snowy, blowy,
...

I'm not getting anything out of the search engines. I would kind of like to find out what happens next in this little versicle. If it jogs anyone's memory. Thanks, Jim Bennett

Hi Jim,

I just stumbled on this forum when seeking this verse via the first line. I learned it as a little song in grade 2 in the 50s in Kingston Ontario. I remembered the first and last lines .... and now I have the middle two lines!!

Here's the poem/song with the last line:

Windy March is blowing, with all its might.
Brooks are overflowing with foam all white.
Though it's cold as winter, snowy, blowy,
Little Pussy willow came to town last night.

Windy March is blowing, with all her might,
brooks are overflowing, with foam all white,
though it's cold as winter, snowy, blowy,
little Pussy Willow came to town last night.

Pussy wore her mittens of light gray fur,
Downy as a kitten, they surely were,
such a cunning midget, roughy, fluffy,
little Pussy Willow won't you please to purr.

I thought there was more to it! And it is just as delightful as I remember it being when I was 7 years old. Thanks!

Lorie
