I thought it was a prayer. Found this by googling
“Oh please Lord, let us pray for all on the sea
But if there’s got to be wrecks, please send them to we.” attributed to Cornwall

"God bless feyther and God bless mather and God send us a wreck afore morning" attributed to Wallasey
