Elephant quote

A strange bird is the elephant
It (He?) flies from tree to tree

Someone quoted something like this to me yesterday - I'd no pen handy so it may not be entirely accurate. Anyone know it and is there any more?

The elephant is a bonny bird,
It flits from bough to bough.
It makes its nest in a rhubarb tree,
And whistles like a cow.

I don't know who wrote it, Anon is most likely, followed by Ogden Nash or Spike Milligan.
