For some reason I suddenly remembered these two stances and know they were poems my mother told me. Can't remember anything else. Any help is greatly appreciated.
1st one:
White birch growing in the meadow,
birch tree growing tall in the meadow
2nd one:
I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree
I don't know about the first one, but the second is Trees by Joyce Kilmer:
Trees
by Joyce Kilmer
I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
John
THANK YOU so much John!!! It means a lot to me to hear the whole poem.....
God bless and best wishes.
The first poem may be from Longfellow. Robert Frost wrote a poem called "Birches", but it does not contain the lines you quote.
Here's a link to the Longfellow poem: [www.emule.com] />
