The epigraph, "Que devient la blancheur quand la neige a fondu?" (what becomes of whiteness when the snow melts), is allegedly a French version of a Shakespeare quote, used in Florian Zeller's novel Neiges Artificielles.
A friend wants to know what the Shakespeare original source is because she can't place it at all. She has found that the quote is widely known in French.
You might check these references, all quotations including the word: "snow"

Certainly a good question! Google gets several hits, but all regarding same quote from Zeller. The two Shakespeare search engines I checked returned lots of hits for 'snow' and 'white(ness)', but nothing compelling.
"Where does the white go when the snow melts?" is all over the place, mostly as a grade-school science question
