da greata game of a baseball as played by the whop

I am trying to locate the name of the author of this poem written in the same vein as casey at the bat, so I can obtain a printed/printable version.
It was given to me as a reading assignment from a poetry/literature textbook by an English teacher in high school some fifty some odd years ago.

Ruth, it will probably be easier to find a copy of the textbook than the individual poem. Go to your local librarian and ask if they can help you locate it.

I'm not sure that would be successful unless the name of the book is remembered. Since it is written in vernacular, a search on the 'net will be difficult, unless an exact line, or a really close first line can be recalled.

ruth-

A comic poet, T.A. Daly wrote tons of stuff in Italian vernacular.
Check out some of his work at the library.
I don't recall this particular piece, but it's worth a shot.
