I am trying to find a poem my aunt liked, to use at her funeral - . I recall it contains line similar to
because I dance to a different drum
Any help in localting this is much appreaciated
I don't know this poem,
but Thoreau said something similar, as beautiful as a poem :
If a man does not keep pace with his companions,
perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music which he hears,
however measured or far away.
Walden, or Life in the Woods, 1854
