pebbles? ripples?

This poem has two paragraphs, each with about 8 lines (could be three paragraphs with 4 lines each) My point ....it's short.
I recited it with my hand held open, palm up.
It seems like the first part was about holding a pebble, or leaf, or even something not so tangible, like maybe life.
At the end, I believe there was something about ripples in water....but, not possitive.
It was appropriate enough to send in a letter to a woman who had just lost a friend to cancer. Sentimental, yet uplifting.
If you have a clue, please let me know before I waste more time racking my brains and scouring my poetry books (which has been enjoyable, but frustrating).
Oh, yes.....it is not a new poem. I believe it was written by an author that most people would recognize.
Thanks,
Merrie
