As I have milked a mixture of Jersey, Friesen, and cross cows for the past 20 years I feel quite happy with the knowledge I have of cows BUT if any one can help me with finding a Poem about

....the Little Jersey heifer in the cowyard of my heart.... I would be most happy.

Thanks

Margaret

This isn't the poem you're looking for, but my mother use to recite this. Maybe you've already heard it, but perhaps not. I think the words are correct, if not, they're very close. (Mom is 97.)

They walked down the lane together,
The sky was sprinkled with stars.
They walked down the lane together,
He lifted for her the bars.
She neither smiled, nor thanked him
For she knew not how.
He was just a country lad,
And she a Jersey cow.

After I sent the first message I decided to check the words and I'm glad I did. Here is the updated version.

They strolled down the lane together,
The sky was studded with stars.
They reached the gate in silence,
He lifted for her the bars.

She neither smiled nor thanked him
For she knew not how.
He was just a farmer boy
And she a Jersey cow.
