Many years ago i read a poem called epitath for a friend by a scottish poet
the book was a 1860's release. the poem goes something like this
"a friend lies here at rest
as ere god with his image blessed
a friend in age a guid in youth
a friend indeed a friend in truth"
forgive any miss spellings .as i said i read that almost 10 years ago and would like to re read it if anyone can help me. thank you
Epitaph on William Muir .. Robert Burns
AN HONEST man here lies at rest
As e’er God with his image blest;
The friend of man, the friend of truth,
The friend of age, and guide of youth:
Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d,
Few heads with knowledge so informed:
If there’s another world, he lives in bliss;
If there is none, he made the best of this.
