Friday nights long ago

I'm searching for a poem my sister pasted to a wooden plaque along with a picture of Raggedy Ann for my 16th birthday.....it's been lost a long time from Mom's attic, but I would so like to return the special poem to my sister's daughter who will turn 16 this summer. It began, "Friday nights long ago, I too stood in front of my bedroom mirror getting ready for that special date...". It was about the thrill of first love and having your whole life ahead to find that special someone. ....I think....it's been about 30 years and I'm still looking! Maybe finding the poem will boost my own love Qi as well! Can anyone help?

Please do not encourage the ragamuffins. They may follow you home, and then you will have to feed them.

Still, the poem sounds familiar.
