Coleridge+Red Tree

Hey guys,
Does anyone know how to link any of Coleridge's poems (Lime Tree Bower, Frost at Midnight, Kubla Khan and Rime of the Ancient Mariner) with the picture book The Red Tree by Shaun Tan?

It would help if I had seen the book by Tan, but I googled reviews of it. It appears that you could find parallels with Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Both have someone travelling and making the reader depressed and leave the reader trying to decide if it has a positive end.

I assume you have access to both texts and can find similarities, from the reviews the tree itself could match the albatross.
