To get information on the poet, have you tried searching for her name on Google or any other Internet search engine? Is she the Jennifer Davids who writes song lyrics? (The poem title you have cited doesn't sound like the title of a song lyric).

You may well be right, Les. Kwandile is probably referring to the South African poet:

but without a copy of the poem (which doesn't appear to be on the Internet) we can't help on it, no matter how many times Kwandile says 'please'.

According to research I've done, though I can't find a biography, Jennifer Davids, the author wrote in the late 1960's. From the photograph of Davids, the singer, she looks to be about 23.
Perhaps, our South African readers could enlighten us.
