hey.
I have to do an assessment on the topic of 'physical journeys'. To do this i have been asked to find a song that relates to this topic. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good songs to fit this category, that i can analyse for my assessment task.
thanx

Marrakesh Express
---Graham Nash
Looking at the world through the sunset in your eyes,
Traveling the train through clear Moroccan skies
Ducks, and pigs, and chickens call,
animal carpet wall to wall
American ladies five-foot tall in blue.
Sweeping cobwebs from the edges of my mind,
Had to get away to see what we could find.
Hope the days that lie ahead
bring us back to where they've led
listen not to what's been said to you.
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express.
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express,
they're taking me to Marrakesh.
All aboard the train.
All aboard the train.
I've been saving all my money just to take you there.
I smell the garden in your hair.
Take the train from Casablanca going south,
blowing smoke rings from the corners of my m m m m mouth.
Colored cottons hang in the air,
charming cobras in the square.
Striped djellebas we can wear at home.
Well, let me hear ya now.
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express.
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express,
they're taking me to Marrakesh.
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express.
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express,
they're taking me to Marrakesh.
All on board the train,
All on board the train,
All on board!

"Leaving of Liverpool" and "Bound to Australia" are just two.
thanx heaps guys. Now i have to choose one and answer the following question:
"How does this tect contribute to your ideas on physical journey?"
Remember to discuss how the composer presents the ideas on physical journey. & i'll be getting marked on my writing skills and my understanding of the physical journey and how the text conveys this message.
But thanx i'll check out those songs! = )
hi.. with my assessment task on 'physical journeys' do you's think the song 'cats in the cradle' by Ugly Kid Joe would be a suitable text? if so does anyone have any ideas on what i could write in response to:
"How does this tect contribute to your ideas on physical journey?"
Becuase I am lost on where to start!
thanx
here's the song's lyrics:
My child arrived just the other day
come to the world in the usual way
but there were planes to catch
and bills to pay
he learned to walk while I was away
he was talking for a minute
and as he grew
he'd say I'm gonna be like you Dad
you know I'm gonna be like you
And the cats in the cradle
and the silver spoon
little boy blue and the
man on the moon
when you comin' home son
I don't know when
we'll get together then
you know we'll have
a good time then
Well my son turned ten
just the other day
he said thanks for the ball Dad
come on let's play
can you teach me to throw
I said not today - I got a lot to do
he said that's o.k.
and he walked away and he
smiled and he said
you know I'm gonna be like him yeah
you know I'm gonna be like him
And the cats in the cradle ...
Well he came from college
just the other day
so much like a man I just had to say
I'm proud of you could you
sit for a while
he shook his head
and he said with a smile
what I'd really like Dad
is to borrow the car keys
see you later can I have them please
And the cats in the cradle ...
I've long since retired
my son's moved away
I called him up just the other day
I'd like to see you if you don't mind
he said
I'd love to Dad
if I could find the time
you see my new job's hassle
and the kids have the flu
but it's sure nice talking to you Dad
it's been sure nice talking to you
and as I hung up the phone
I occured to me
he'd grown up just like me
my boy was just like me
And the cats in the cradle ...
And the cats in the cradle ...
