hey all,
I know, this being a Poetry Site, what Im about to ask is off-topic, but ive run out of ideas, and i need help!!!
I have an english assesment coming up in 2 weeks.... its a speech and im required to talk about one text from the stimulus booklet (for 2005 HSC), and relate this between a 'related material'. The text ive chosen in the stimulus booklet is 'The road not taken' by Robert Frost... As this text is a poem, i cannot choose another poem to relate to for my assessment.. Does anyone at all (please) know of any texts that would be good for relating to 'The road not taken'. I know this is a long shot, asking for another text, other than a poem, but I am desperate.... I cant seem to think of a good text to relate 'the road not taken' to.. Thankyou all for listening to me and even more for helping me (if anyone does!)
cheers,
crofty
Crafty, this is difficult to do because we don't know what books/novels plays you've read. There are many books which could relate to Frost's poem. Look for anything which talks about life choices. S. E. Hinton's books Rumblefish and The Outsiders come to mind. There are many other novels which contain the theme of "choices". Go to your school or college librarian and ask them for help with this.

Thanks for your replies..
The thing is I dont just have to choose books... I can choose any text to relate to my stimulus booklet...
Thanks for that idea, Ill see my Librarien as soon as I can!
Can anyone else give me other texts in which their is a journey involved and theirs 2 choices to make?
Thanks all!
Crofty
Crofty, choose something you've already read. Anything by J.R.R. Tolkien will work. Some of Harry Potter. There are zillions of possibilities. Go to Google.com and type in " journeys in literature". You'll get hundreds of choices. Here's an example: [www.online-literature.com] />

I do Physical, but thanks for the advice
Crofty..
P.S. Ill get back to you.. :p
Tolkien seems good, Les, if Crofty has read Lord of the Rings. How about after the battle of Helms Deep and Aragorn has to decide between the paths of the dead or riding with Theoden?
