Hi!

I was wondering if anyone has got any information on the poems that i am doing for my coursework or about the poets and how their background/experiences relates to their poem.

Our Essay title is:

'Compare the representation of the theme of love in the poems you have studied. Analyse the use of linguistic devices and their intended effects'

The poems we are studying are:

To his Coy Mistress’ By Andrew Marvell (1621-1678) ‘Porphyria’s Lover’ By Robert Browning, ‘Sonnet’ By Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861) and ‘Sonnet 138’ by William Shakespeare (1564-1616).

Any information on these poems are welcomed even if it is a small bit of information it will be really appreciated!

Thanks!
