I am taking a college prep. class right now and we are studing poetry. I am researching e.e. cummings life. What I am trying to find is any awards he received, most well known writtings and some of his other hobbies besides writtings.
Katie, perhaps the best resource for this assignment may be your school/college/university/public library. There are many BOOKS written on cummings. The best online site I could find in a quick search is this:
Les
Then there's the e e cummings society:
[and you might like to use spellcheck when you compose your paper - writtings, indeed]

Quick, spot the error here! Should it have been cummings' or cummings's? Disgregarding the capitals, I mean.
Try this grammar test, if you are brave enough:

Hugh, questions like number 13 are exactly the kind that drive us teachers up the wall. No one actually speaks like that, in print or anywhere else. How are students supposed to learn proper grammar when our testing tools are so out of touch with "real" life.
(The boss thought "he" was the best candidate for the job. ) This is the way any sensible person would construct the sentence.
The construction you see on the sample test is convoluted. If I were grading the tester, I would fail him/her right there. There are many other examples there which are mis-constructed to prove a point.
The point is that these tests only confuse the matter and the students.

Les,
You and the test are both wrong. The best candidate is female.

Normally, we Grammar Gods do not deign to explain the nuances of this silly English language, but I will make an exception this one time only.
13. His boss decided the best candidate was to be ________.
(he, him, or either one acceptable)
The boss thought "he" was the best candidate for the job.
Unfortunately neither construction serves to indicate whether the boss himself or another unspecified 'he' is the best candidate.
Pam's answer clearly invites the question,
Her boss decided the best candidate was to be (she, her, herself).
