A Believable Illusion!
Pinching the flesh of reality
To reassure it of its being,
I stumble over truth:
A besieging entrapped myth!
Consulting a professional mind
On the duration of this numbness,
I ‘m encountered with a prophecy:
"Thou shall live to be but forty!"
Documented on yellow leaves,
Is the verdict of my question
In answers that’s colors fade;
Autumn is visiting for the last time!
My fingers then sink deeper
To distinguish real from true;
In awesome vanity, an epiphany
Emerges to the surface of my shore.
Light, as the leaves, is blooming
The only truth on earth;
Nurtured from the soils of souls
Deeply submerged in life.
That which appears to be
Is but what our halos emit;
Yet what sinks deep within
Is a totally different reverie!
KQ, I really enjoy reading your works.
I found this stanza intriguing:
Documented on yellow leaves,
Is the verdict of my question
In answers that’s colors fade; (should In, be 'it')
Autumn is visiting for the last time!
One's perception of facts and reality differs, this stanza blows my mind:
My fingers then sink deeper
To distinguish real from true;
In awesome vanity, an epiphany
Emerges to the surface of my shore.
Thank you for sharing.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. (Aristotle)
