she

secrets tucked neatly away,
erroneous veil in place.
pause & breathe in daylight,
a dauntless daring face.
day after day, they all deduce-
demure confidence to be true.
as essence sheathes malaise-
the trepidations of her youth.
in ominous splendor,
she lies alone-
as slumber awakens sobs.
enigma revealed,
atrocities exposed,
her demons have
commenced their stalk...
a haunted mind battles on-
throughout the silent screams.
as idle prayer lingers,
although relinquished-
for one moment,
one glimpse,
of peace.

Wicked, I hope she finds peace! I know that I was looking for it after I read this. Good, but unsettling...

love your choice of words, truly brilliant!

once again your piece keeps the reader interested and your style evokes new and interesting thoughts and ideas

You must have posted this while I was on vacation, good work. Are the other
two by you revisions, seems like I've read them before?

blushing...
Les... which two? Last two posts are a very old one, &
a rough draft.... Thanx for the confidence btw, means much
from you - lol

El... Thanx sooo much, it means alot simply because I
do respect/admire your work. As for the rest, I'm a
"work in progress" of sorts.

Thank you, thank you, thank you omantic! I look forward
to reading your posts each & every time they pop up!

I like the top half and the bottom half.. but I stumbled when the rhymes quit.
Heck I don't know, ask Les and Bruce, they understand English.
