It does not matter that I have flat lined.

I've been in jail, been poor all my life,
been left alone. Here it is:
who I am. This is the now I get to live.
I don't get to make it up, don't have to make up
for what I've been or where I haven't been.

Some days it does seem I have spent my whole life starting again. Sometimes that's the most postive of all possibilities...other times, it is just another possibility.
