Insomniac Serenade
blue sheet slips
across night sky
slide down Inanna's thigh
Erishkegal screams
in the hall
the dark sister
reaching for the fire
Ivan's knot of consciousness
every turn,
a turn away:
Egypt? Cyprus,
time's decay
we live in a tiny room
astrologers go mad
every day
the rush of galaxies
base sixty
at the curb
loins lightened
the string of stars
lost again
jade beads
onyx eyes
cast like die
before the sands
stirring at twilight
he puts his toe
in the clear pool
This is in response to Ivan Arguelles' "(dream a little dream of me)"--

I like this part, Peter:
onyx eyes
cast like die
before the sands
Les
Peter, this is beautiful.
loins lightened
the string of stars
lost again
jade beads
and finally
stirring at twilight
he puts his toe
in the clear pool
to clench it were to me the best of a great read.
Thanks, all. I am still overwhelmed by Ivan's poem which triggered this, but which I do not have permission to reproduce.
amo et avanti,
Peter
