FREEDOM

Freedom is a word
that cannot be
written or defined,
only felt.

It is a bird taking wing
straight into a fiery horizon,
a horizon bold enough
to bare its soul without fear.

They say that freedom is
synonymous with the bottom,
with nothing left to lose,
but I believe it is for the strong:
one's greatest achievement thus far,
and mine.

And so as a single bird's powerful
cry echoes over the mountains,
breathe a peaceful sigh, smile,
and be okay with the beauty
that surrounds you. You have
permission - the freedom -
to be whatever the compulsion
in your life calls you to be.

"breathe a peaceful sigh, smile,
and be okay with the beauty
that surrounds you."

Good advice within a fine poem. Glad to see you posting once again.

Thank you both, Peter and Joe.

Peter, I'm sorry, I don't understand what you did yesterday?

I tell my kids that with freedom comes responsibility. The oldest always knew that. My son, now 18 is finally starting to, my 15 year old daughter is still fighting to avoid acknowledging it and largely acting like her 7 year old sister. Lol.

Good poem.
