I sleep with raven feathers
caressing my fingers
your breath a gentle breeze
whistling through me
singing lullabies
legs like ivy
twisted
into one vine
we entered this night together
when the air was warmer
I wear you now
like a sheet
fresh from a clothesline by the garden
its fragrance intact
let the bells ring
we are immovable
firmly cemented.
Jay, Thanks for sharing. Welcome to this site.jhs
Jay-really liked both this one and "I see you growing up". THey both have a great flow to them and really clearly express how you feel- give us more!
just one question, though- where does the title of this one come from? Sounds much more soft and loving than stone. Enlighten me?
smiles and welcomes
Sarah
Thumbs up!

all this is delightful

waddaya think?
Jay, I loved the image of 'sheets fresh from the clothesline', that fresh, clean smell, that no fabric softener has ever been able to capture. JP
Sarah: To me, stone is something very silent and peaceful. A good example is a sculpture in a garden; a very quiet place.
For two people to lie together as stone, implies that they are at peace.
Thank you to everyone who has read and appreciated my poems.
I look forward each morning to reading all of the comments.
