Ever awed by your serenity
I enter this house and feel acceptance
You are pure love and peace

Unashamed of emotion, I cry as I feel your presence embrace me
I dip my fingers in the cool water that sooths my mortal wounds
My voice instinctively lowers in reverent respect

I belong here; you have made that clear from the beginning
You have accepted me with all my faults
All my fears
All my indiscretions

As a child I found you mystical
As an adult I find comfort and tenderness
Ever strong, ever glorious
You do not abandon
But rejoice in my presence

Your walls encapsulate joy
Your floors take the burden from my feet
Your pillars hold me up when I can no longer stand
Your windows burst with rays of hope
