open eyes make big smiles
and i'm right on the inside
this time no time is enough
this time it's gonna hurt worse

it's a bright spot on a dark wall
and i'm hoping for a shadow
it's a long shot from a bad place
and i'm shooting at a rainbow

senile mind wild
silence the messanger
sterile idle warmth
it feeds

nothing comes to mind when I
put my mind on the line
standing there single file
overfed and feeling fine

overkill i think is right
damn those pesky dragonflies
soon we will not be alone
and who will send this letter home?

Maybe it's my mindset, but I can't get the message behind it. I like the feeling and the images that came to mind as I read it, intentional or not, and I appreciated the rhythm.

I was going to report back on the number converted to base 10, but lost interest Like Johnny said, there are only 10 kinds of people. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

When my hubby decoded it, he came up with a 7 digit number. Maybe a phone number?

Merv,

You got it.

I read it on the web, so it must be true.

I read it 4,828,965 Somehow base ten seems easier. We should teach computers to read base ten. But ya know, if we had six fingers on each hand we'd probably think in dozens. Interesting number anyway, I'll do it again when I get time.

4,828,965 is the answer I got using two different internet conversion calculators. That agrees with Terry's conversion but I have no idea of its significance. Too bad Mr. Yuck isn't still around to enlighten us.

Joe, if I'm off by a multiple of 2 I'd be happy. I'm sure my answer is not exact since the number has to end in an odd number. No whole number should start with a 0 no matter what base it's in.

I guess I didn't add something. I think the person was just pulling our chain anyway.

OK the cowboy showed through,, it never occured to me to use an online conversion calculator. I did it the old fashioned way.. 1^1+0^2+1^3 ad nausium.

I think it's the number of kumquats that it would take to reach from NYC to the moon at midnight on the 16th of Aug 1847.

Terry:

I knew it something to do with kumquats and the moon but somehow, I thought it involved Cleveland and not NYC. I hadn't even gotten close to figuring out the date, though (lol).
