And Why Do We Reach for What We Reject?

And Why Do We Reach for What We Reject?

My broken thoughts
Fill with typos
Like a message from a drunk prophet
Who has forgotten yesterday

In todayís cloud
The river reaches out
The sky is falling
One drop at a time
I canít hold my breath
And am drowning in clear air

My poems have no
Beginnings and ends
Only intentions
Dropped in the sand
Like brittle seaweed
At the edge of the day

Peter, this is the strongest poem you've posted in my recent memory. I'd be curious to know how this piece is received by listeners in an open reading. Give us some feedback if you do read the poem to a live audience.

Forward.

I really enjoyed this poem. I tried to pick out a particular line but I can't.
