Bigger Than a Bread Box

"How crazy was he who said the earth was round?"
I asked.
"As crazy as they said he was" was
the answer.

"How crazy did they say he was?"
I asked.
"As crazy as they thought he was" was
the answer.

"Was was" sounds crazy to me,
I thought, and looks crazier still.
And Fuzzy wasn't fuzzy,
"Was he?"

And the world is not a circle
And the circle is not of life,
but what goes around
does come around

and today is yesterday
and tomorrow is today
and "As it was in the beginning
is now and ever shall be,
world without end."

and the light in the sky darts
here, then there...
Back, forward, side to side
and though disappears,
remains.

Because it can, it will, it does, it was
It is....
Undulating and multidemensional.

Mary, some of my earliest, serious attempts at poesy involve word play and thought play such as you have here. A delightful read, good job with this one.

Thanks, Les. David addressed what I found to be a similar subject much more eloquently in his piece. I only posted this little ditty because I found congruence in the matter and seem to be inundated lately with congruences for which there has been no apparent collaboration...apparent being the operative word.

Check her out on Home Away From Home Poetry. The link is:

Peter, she truly is awesome.

ps.

That forum is set up, though, so that you can only access the poems by registering with the website, which was set up for Mary by her son when the Mule was down some time ago.
