Infirmity

I did trod alone.
With naught and no one beside me.
Searching for the Truth of what did lay ahead
I found my one calling.
But two did I meet along my journey.
The one in whom was love found abundant.
Freedom from old pain, release from my weakness.
Eternity spoke volumes and beckoned our existence.
Eternity, however, tired and grew weary.
Time overcame all and our path turned dim.
I still held tight to what once was ours.
I fought and still fight for freedom.
But the pain has taken over and my weakness returns.
He struggles to find the path again, ignoring my direction.
I feel I'm merely a distraction.
Second, I found one in whom there was pureness of mind.
The joy and companionship softened the arduous heartache.
I begged and found acceptance.
I prodded and found relief.
But the ecstacy unveiled and the wanting fulfilled,
I find the contradiction of heart wracking me with guilt.
I've bruised the two walking along.
I've changed who I am inside.
My desires did trample and I see what I've done.
Only now sometimes I hope that my infirmity is the taker
And ends this journey I've destroyed.
