A Walk in the Country
I came down from the Old Man.
Flowers just now blooming trope the landscape.
Every tree speaks to me.
Friends can not be lost.
The green village has come from brown and grey.
Friends take up the day.
Smooth winds expose the under-leaves
And bring prophets from the seeds.
Fertile pockets and yellow clothes spot the bus stop
And the morning bristle tickles our ears.
Who will I meet today?
Some Boston Taoist on his way.
Greeting me with his calm surface
He waves his hand, look up the street.
”If the bus comes, don’t lose your feet,
In the traffic rush.
If you run now, you can
Beat the bus.”
Nobody really believes him.
There is nothing to doubt.
He sits silent on the bench
Waiting in his own fashion.
Why should he take his own advice?
The spring wind takes all alike.

question , what is a Taoist ?
nice poem, did have to read it once or twice, not use to reading english being that i live in the netherlands 16 of the 40 years of life
its a intersante way discribing winter turning into spring and about the essance of using your own sorce of transportation instead of always taking the bus
Basically the Taoists follow a path while takes human nature to be an integral aspect of nature nature. A very laid-back approach of 'go with the flow.' The I Ching and the Tao Teh Ching ecpress some of the way for them. There are philosophical Taoists, like the man from Boston, and religious Taoist, but its all a matter of emphasis and perspective. Taoist had a stonge influence on the development of Zen (Ch'an)in China.
The term 'Boston Taoist' is a kind of joke, a play off the concept of "Boston Brahmins, the local aristocracy (blueblooods), so there is a sense of humour to the poem as well as serious intent.
Thanks for visiting, gouwerijn.

I like it, the atmosphere and enigma.
I have been visualizing lately. It just comes out that some of the images are out there in the fields.
The Taoists declared a day of mourning the day the Old Man fell.
