ANTHOLOGY: K.Q.
Posted by: lg (---.trlck.ca.charter.com)
Date: August 20, 2004 12:38AM

This is another in the anthology series. It features the artist K. Q. Her poems are philosophical and tender. She questions the world around herself and expects to find the answers. Relax and enjoy the poetry of K. Q.
*Where both an outside and an inside title exist for the poem, I have used the title inside (above the poem) as the main title and the thread title as a secondary (parenthetic) title.

Gwydion, K.Q. is without a doubt the most underrated poet here on the mule. Go back and read "Misplaced", "Equilibrium", "The Brim of Faith", "Translation of a Smile", "Labeled", "Confession", and "A Prohibited Desire" and you will get an idea of the range of material and depth of feeling expressed by this outstanding poet.

Les, I'm well aware of her talent. lol, I was just reading, "Lend Me A Dream" and "Confession"

I agree with this statement:

K.Q. is without a doubt the most underrated poet here on the mule.

smiling smiley KQ, I enjoy your work and never doubt this:

I feel you are close to me in spirit and definitely always there for me!!

~HUG~

I’ve walked the sea blue mile
where seagulls cry,
waves collide,
and mist is a cold friend.

The sun beckons me to look up
where eagles fly,
feelings subside,
and sun beams are a warm friend.

We all know the story of
bad times,
empty hands,
and a smile that can’t be had.

But have you all walked the sea blue mile.

Dunno why exactly, but as I was reading through a number of your poems I was inspired...hope you don't mind my dumping this here. ta

Gwyn,
I am honored if this is what my poems have inspired! Beautiful . I love this part as it really touches upon my symbol in life: the sun.

The sun beckons me to look up
where eagles fly,
feelings subside,
and sun beams are a warm friend.

P.S. My eldest daughter's name in Arabic-Shams- means Sun , and she is my friend; in many ways she lights my days!!

Perhaps one of the things about Khalida that might go underrated or unnoticed is how much she makes better poets of us. I know from direct experience that her interaction with me, poet to poet, has made me a poet I never knew I could be. She is the gift.

Peter, the amazing part to me is the transformation that YOU have made on HER poetry. New dimensions are revealed, not just as a critic, but as a wonderfully talented writer.

I agree, Les. I just didn't know how to say that. Thanks both Peter and Les, it is you who are the dearest of gifts.
