Woohoo!! My favorite!
Thank you, Les.
Lady of the Night
I never conquered, rarely came, sixteen just held such better days.
Just an observation: Many here post poems, but I believe that Jay IS a poet.
Les
I wholeheartedly agree... He is my absolute favorite, ever. Better than Frost, Poe, Browning... ever.
Lady of the Night
I never conquered, rarely came, sixteen just held such better days.
Wonderful, most excellent, thank you Les!
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. (Aristotle)
Now, I'm happy.
Stephen
And that takes a lot
Lady of the Night
I never conquered, rarely came, sixteen just held such better days.
Wow ...
that's a lot of poetry.
I'm blushing over here...really. Thanks so much for all of the kind words.
Meg, puh-lease ... let's not get carried away with the comparisons to Browning, Frost et al.
I really appreciate everyone's comments. Thanks!
Jay
P.S. I LOVE the parental advisory line!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh poor jay, so few comments......"I see you growing up "is one special poem tough, haven't had time to read the rest but this is just one I picked out, so basing that on statistics, there should be some other classics, great stuff, although you ought to check out dreambabes "no subject" thought provoking stuff...........
Thank you les for opening the door to this gem store....
Hey Les ... why can't I read the poems? Only the titles.
Thanks,
Jay
Jay, it's Aaron and Rudy's tinkering. The next to last incarnation of the e-mule server made the tinyurl links inoperative.
I've changed the links on my anthology to e-mule's, but haven't had time to change the rest. Leave this here and I may change a few of these this evening.

gee who'd'a thunk he wrote that much? I've only read about 40%^.. must a get busy.
I don't know why I compared to Browning... what I've read by her I didn't like. But I still say Jay is my favorite poet ever. I can't wait 'till the links work again.
Lady of the Night
You won't have long to wait Lady...
Les
They are working. I enjoyed going through the poems!
Favourite poet ever?? I'm truly flattered Meg, but there are so many great poets out there ... how can you even make such a statement?
Jay
Because I haven't read them all yet
(That is, all the poets out there) And besides... it's easy when you have a favorite style, and there aren't many (to my knowledge) that write in that style. Similar to Jewel and the like.
Lady
PS Woohoo!!

I've been going through these since the thread was bumped. Good stuff.
-SS-
Here, you go writer. Jay has been an on and off again poster here at e-mule for years.
Les
great to have these links to the "GOODS". Jay IS a poet. One of my faves too.
Thanks for putting this up, Les. I'll try to get through it all ...
Marcus
So excited to see he hasn't been forgotten!
Is he still around?
Lady of the Night
You people really care..
Thedyingwillbleed,
The vets are a very tight bunch. I do hope Jay still pokes his head around here every so often. Does he? And if so, anyone know his current screenname?
Oh, and by "vets," I mean people who have been around here for many years. I joined the site back in '02, then left around '05 or so and am just returning again. I still see some of my old friends from back in '02, such as Les, JH Summers, Mr. P., JohnnyBoy (assuming that's JohnnySansCulo), and lgreen. Jay was around back in the early days as well.

They are a very tight group, as I have been witness to since 2002, when I first started posting stuff here full of typo etc.
cheers,
Peter
I am now about halfway through this list and I will admit that my style is similar. I hope I don't end up being quite as argumentative though.
Oooo... if your style is similar, I shall be following your work, Writer.
Peter,
How are you? So glad to see you're still around. And you are part of that tight group!
Critiques always welcome.
