Putting a voice to the poetry
Posted by: Jean-Paul (---.nt.net)

I'm back.
Trying to catch up on a lot of reading.
I don't think I'm qualified to critique much, but I do try to understand the poetry.
Some of it is thoughtful and some seems contrived.
Poems are like music........what turns my crank may bore the heck out of everyone else.
I noticed that when i read some, I can't help but imagine so-and-so reading it out loud.
William Shatner keeps sneaking into my brain.
So.......if anyone notices any such comments by me, I am not being a smart-ass. I read it and I am putting a face to it........I think.

Poetry and the Physical Voice by Francis Berry [ an unjustly neglected poet himself] is an interesting essay beginning with how poetry sounds.

realy it seems a bit strange dont you think so? I mean in frount of everyone like that.Oh well if you keep it a secrete I suppose it wont matter.

On another topic did you ever go to school at all? If You did what did you learn what to do?Did the school system teach you to do anything intresting at all?ANYWAYS keep it up! The good work I mean.

Do you ever wonder what the USA would have made by now if they did have a made in america union and not china war?Oh get a job you co dependant bumbs. Its not worth it. There needs to be real jobs for real people not jobs killing people or geting killed.Jobs making stuff.

As for Prince William when I look ahead at his future I know he dosnt want me to plan his future out for him but it so fun.Or maybe I should let him decide for himself.I would like to know the answer to this one and what he going to do about it...William for your future would you rather have a job making things creating stuff and inventing experties for the future generations ?OR ? Would you rather fight hit shoot kill bomb get shot and fight it a war over slavery? Its your chouce.I see the plain common sence answer as #1.Getting a job for Will would be so spiritually enlightning and he would learn alot and become smarter and the best part about it is..what would will invent for the world what would he make.I mean its a fast growing economy and with computers and cell phones on the rise what else could come up with?It would surley be a terrific treasure for all people...But if he wants war for slavery then Im afraid me may just turn all scarry and bloody and stuff either way its his choice. The chouce begins now and I hope he stands up to the senate and makes the right choice for all future generation.

This Is The Silliest Stupidest Thing I Have Ever Heard Democracy For The World.
GET THIS AMERICA HAS STARTED A WAR WITH THE ENTIRE WORLD IN ORDER TO HAVE ANARCHY FREEDOM FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD.AND THE OTHER HALF THEY HAVE BOMBED INTO SLAVERY. THE USA IS AT WAR WITH THE WHOLE WORLD.THEY HAVE DONE THIS TO THEM SELVES.THAT IS CRAZY A FREE WORLD.
Well freedom at gun point to every countrty in the world is asking for trouble. They know they can get a ceasefire but they dont care.Wow I try to stop their free the world war on the world to save them from what they are getting into" shooting torchered diplomats"Freedom for Indonesia. Why care that much health is much more smart happier and fun!
World Peace is better that world Freedom.

What the heck are you talking about girl?

What poem? This isn't a poem I posted. It is an explanatory comment. That is why I posted it in the "General Discussion" forum.

??????????
Yes, I went to school and I will always be learning. I never graduated HS, but I have several years of college under my belt (not to mention enough body fat to make 682 bars of soap)
Keep trying buddy, you'll get it eventually.

Once having heard a poet read, the poet's voice stays with me and comes alive whenever I read her/his work. And sometimes I just close my eyes and listen.

Veronica:
But, what you were reading a Bobby Burns masterpiece and you couldn't help imagining George W. Bush voicing the words?
Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?

Jean-Paul,

I usually picture Elmer Fudd or Sylvester the Cat doing the readings, so it works out pretty well

Anthony Hecht used to recite Lycidas in W.C. Fields's voice.
