This Spring - EE Cummings

Is this a poem to end all poems?
It certainly seens to be a "good one"
Slightly uncertain, would value your opinions.

This one?

Spring is like a perhaps hand
(which comes carefully
out of Nowhere)arranging
a window,into which people look(while
people stare
arranging and changing placing
carefully there a strange
thing and a known thing here)and

changing everything carefully

spring is like a perhaps
Hand in a window
(carefully to
and fro moving New and
Old things,while
people stare carefully
moving a perhaps
fraction of flower here placing
an inch of air there)and

without breaking anything.

Although this poem is good, I prefer Anyone lived in a pretty how town...

I love the sonnets so much, too, especially:

it may not always be so; and i say
that if your lips, which i have loved, should touch
another's, and your dear strong fingers clutch
his heart, as mine in time not far away;
if on another's face your sweet hair lay
in such a silence as i know, or such
great writhing words as, uttering overmuch,
stand helplessly before the spirit at bay;

if this should be, i say if this should be-
you of my heart, send me a little word;
that i may go unto him, and take his hands,
saying, Accept all happiness from me.
Then shall i turn my face, and hear one bird
sing terribly afar in the lost lands.

This became my saviour when my first wife found somebody else ...

Sorry to hear about your first wife, hope you're over her now.
If I have a headache I take an asprin. Poetry can be a bit of a headache I don't find it particularly comforting , for me poetry is more about understanding. I love the sonnet you posted though but what I don't understand is how it gave you reassurance. Please explain, if you feel that you would like to.

Seasons Greetings!

It taught me that it is OK to accept the inevitable.
Then, it taught me that it is healing to embrace the inevitable.
Life seemed like hell, then.
Now, I am remarried with three stepdaughters and nine grandchildren.
I enjoy their unconditional love.
So, my pain was worth it. cummings made me see that it might be so. And it was.
