Ok i understand that its about his childhood since he was neglected most the time. But in the last lines...."And the cloud that took the form (when the rest of heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view." what does it mean. I dont understand. Maybe someone can summarize it for me. Thanks

It means that he saw the darker side of life, like a demon which always affected the way he looked at things. At least that's what I "think" it means.

Go to the Homework Assistance pages, and search for "alone, Poe" and you will get links to other discussions of this poem.

He's telling all the ways in which he's different. When you or I see a pretty, fleecy cloud in a blue sky, we might say 'How beautiful' or 'Look, a rabbit'. What did Poe see? Demons.
