Pam, the news programmes on BBC said that there had been bad storms in Califormia, in the same areas as the fires. Has your area been affected? Are you well?

Yes, lots of rain last night- about 5 inches in downtown LA, (shut up, Hugh) along with hail.

No problems for me, although the dogs were unhappy- 'You want us to go out in THAT!'

Sweet Katie was waiting supinely,
Her negligee open divinely
When I walked through her door.
"I hope you have more
Than eight inches," she fancied, benignly.

Excellent! I knew you were going there, since I thought it the instant it left my fingers.

Isn't it nice to know you can rely on your friends?

Funny about animals. Dogs will freak out over bad weather -- even before it starts. My cats LOVE bad weather and love to go out in it. But when it's lovely out, they curl up inside and sleep throught it.

My cats prefer sunny days- it allows them to recharge their solar batteries.

My cats like to lay around rain or shine. They are laziness. (and I would too if I could)

My dog avoids cold weather like the plague.
Does that make him smarter than me?

Manhattan: Talk of snow, no white stuff YET.

My cats love bad weather and yearn to be out in it.

On lovely spring days they curl up inside and try to sleep until it's over.

Earthquakes now!!! To the north of you, I guess? Were you or you friends affected?

nice to know everyone is doing fine !

we were to go to Oporto, Portugal yesterday night,
for the holidays, but we decided to stay in Rio instead
and it is 41 Celsius = some 105 F
and to be honest, right now,
I would trade places with your dogs and cats
wherever they are ...

No one I know was affected- where I live, it was very weak. I felt just a tiny bit of shaking, and people down the hall didn't even notice

I barely felt it- and thought 'hey, are we having an earthquake?,' but since no one around me noticed, I figured I was wrong.
