THE COMING GLOBE OF DARKNESS BRINGS

The ending of endless evenings
Draws the fading twilight near
As flowers begin to moan and breathe
Amid the roar of golden clear

Arise!
Arise, and find the one
Beheld so dear
Is never now, so never near
As far as hearts laid down in waste
And ancient bodies feel
Fevered through Haste, and Tool, and Wheel;
Our Hearts shine Blacker with Gilt-edged Gleams
And Love like tears of Sadness stings
Our broken lives
and nightmare dreams.

The coming globe of Darkness brings
Our hearts together, and love so dear
As silent, still, sparkling sight
Shines Proud and Pure
With Splendorous Might!

Awake!
Awake and embrace the one
So near now, never so near
As twilight shines our bodies through
With Moonlight, Glisten and Shimmer
of Void, and Crystal, and Blue;
With breath in each and velvet sheen
Our Souls of Deeds and Goodness Sing of broken lies
and undead dreams.

1. Discuss the devices of sound.
2. What's the structure of the poem (closed or open form) tells readers much about the poet's world view (i.e. attitude toward order or chaos, etc.) how does the structure/form work with the rhythm/meter to indicate the poet's view of life (theme) in the poem?
3. discuss the figurative language in the poem. which of these figures are symbols?

Thanks.... ^__^
