Hi guys!!! I was just wondering if anybody here knows about poems with a lot of alliteration (tounge twisters) or onomatopoeia (sounds) in them...and other literary structures....if so could u please email me bacck...i would greatly appreaciate it...thanx
You no doubt know this lovely poem -
Western wind, when wilt thou blow,
The small rain down can rain?
Christ, that my love were in my arms,
And I in my bed again!
Anonymous
or this doggerel
A bear whose coat looked a wee bit worn
Cut off his fur one summer morn
When the weather's warm he's without a care
But how much cold can a bare bear bear?
Anon.
Try Wilfred Owens 'Anthem for Doomed Youth' for some great examples of onomatopoeia
