Could anybody please help me, I am looking for a poem for my mother, she seems to think it is by Rudyard Kipling, but can't find it. Problem being we only know the first line and even that is not 100% certain. Anyway this is what we have to go on "There’s a one eyed yellow idol to the north of katmandu" I am beginning to wonder if the author is Kipling after all, any help would be truly appreciated. thank you
I think your mom is looking for "The Green Eye of the Yellow God" by J. Milton Hayes. You should be able to find the text by searching under Mad Carew on the net.
No need to go elsewhere on the net. Find it right here at "The Poetry Archives"
Just click on this page's own Search link and enter 'yellow' or 'idol' or 'yellow idol' in the box,
then set the other things to the obvious, give it a click and you will see the list of posts
where "The Green Eye of the Yellow God" has already been discussed on this bulletin board.
Yes, that is the one. I can't thank you enough, cheers Jamie x xx
