Emma
From my encyclopaedia -
born Elizabeth Barrett Moulton Barrett(BMcool smiley March 6 1806 in Coxloe Hall near Durham England, eldest of 12 children of Edward BMB and Mary Graham-Clark. Precocious: studied philosophy, Greek, Latin, French. At 15 had a sever lung infection = weak lungs and TB condition. Her favourite eldest brother drowned; E suffered nervous collapse; for 5 years confined to her rooms. Amonst other writings she published 'Poems' (which incl 'Flush, My Dog' 'Cowpers Grave' etc).
Robert Browning praised her work, fell in love with E; married Sep 12 1846; happy married life and good health. Died 29 June 1861.
I'm sure there is a website with much more on it!
According to the same reference -
in her best poems, spontaneity and lyrical qualities, passionate feeling and sincerity ......
Hope this helps you Regards Peter
