For some reason when I read this poem I feel a sort of sadness. I'm not sure if this was the intent of "To Autumn" so I was just wondering about the insight of other readers. Thanks!
It all seems quite post-coital to me although on tyhe other hand it could be just a poem about cornucopia and the end of the harvest time. It could be a celebration of bringing in the sheaves or Keats' impending death due to TB. The symbols of repletion and satiety abound. It is about fulfilment really, isn't it? After that what do you have? the poem is beautiful and brimming with fulness to the poin to of spilling over. Is it about watse, then? Is it about the FAll? Why not!
Enjoy the poem agin by rereading it over and over.
