PLease help me....
I'm looking for a poem and I forgot the author. I learned it as a child, and i dont remembe all the words. it goes some thing like this
He who knows and know he knows is a wise man ; ...........
He who knows not and knows he knows not is a .... ; ......
He who knows and knows not he knows is a child ; teach him
He who knows not and knows not he knows not is a fool ; shun him.
Some one please help me . I have a burning desire inside to post this poem on
my wall to remind me of the difference in individual ideology.
I don't know the poem but Confucius wisely observed:
"To know that we know what we know, and that we do not know what we do not know, that is true knowledge."
The way I remember it, it goes like this:
He who knows not, and knows not he knows not, he is a fool; shun him.
He who knows not, and knows he knows not, he is simple; teach him.
He who knows, and knows not he knows, he is asleep; wake him.
He who knows, and knows that he knows, he is wise; follow him.
I've had it written in the front of one of my books for years, but I can't find the book.
